How Do I Prove a Breach of Contract?
All industries are built on mutual trust and respect between individuals and corporations. To legally enforce this trust, we often sign into a contract to ensure we are all following through on our obligations. If other members of the contract fail to fulfill their obligations under the contract, a breach of contract has occurred. This resulting breach of contract may result in you suffering economic losses. If these losses occurred because of the actions of another member in the contract, then you may be entitled to sue for damages, demand specific actions be taken, or terminate the contract.
Living Wills and Alzheimer’s
A living will is a legal document stating your personal choices about end-of-life medical treatment. In case you are unable to speak with doctors yourself, it lays out the procedures and medications you do or do not want to receive to prolong your life. A living will is particularly important if you are at risk for Alzheimer’s or dementia. There may come a time when you are unable to make decisions for yourself, including choices about your care and treatment.
Nursing Home Closures Rise in Nebraska
Nursing homes in Nebraska are closing down at a record pace, as reported in an article on KETV 7. As of November 2019, 14 nursing homes went out of business that year, bringing the total to 31 in the previous three years. This trend has created a crisis for many nursing home residents and their families. It has also created an economic ripple effect in the areas where the facilities have closed.
Why You Should File a Hit and Run Claim
Despite it being illegal, some drivers flee the scene of an accident. They choose to take this action for many reasons – avoiding insurance claims, evading arrest if they know they’re driving while drunk, or other reasons. Unfortunately, victims of a hit-and-run are left injured and unable to file a claim against an unknown negligent driver.
Farm Bankruptcies on the Rise
Last year saw a significant increase in farm bankruptcies, with 37 farms going bankrupt in the state of Nebraska, the second-highest number of farm bankruptcies in the country. This increase is following a trend of rising annual farm bankruptcies in Nebraska and throughout the USA. This is a serious economic concern in our state, as agriculture is the backbone of Nebraska and employs more people than any other industry. While there are nationwide programs and trade deals that should help ease this situation in the future, many farmers are having difficulty breaking even and keeping a farm afloat. If your farm is at risk of going under, you may want to contact a Nebraska agricultural law attorney to discuss options and get assistance.
