Congratulations to the 2021 Bowties and Books Scholarship Winner
Many great journeys start with the pursuit of knowledge, and the decision to go to college is not one most people make lightly. Picking the right school, debating about a major, choosing a career path – there are so many questions you have to ask yourself, and you can never predict what you will find along the way.
When we started the Bowties and Books Scholarship, we challenged students to answer these hard questions and share a little about themselves. Each year, we get to read hundreds of essays about students with big dreams and who want to change the world. It is inspiring to hear your stories and your hopes, and we thank you for sharing them with us. Now, after narrowing down 1,000 applicants to five amazing finalists, we have finally selected one student to be crowned the winner of the 2021 Bowties and Books Scholarship and receive a $2,500 scholarship.
Join us in congratulating:
Olivia S. – Hemlock, NY
Olivia’s essay embodied the determination and optimism that we think every student needs to succeed in college. From explaining how she developed a love for STEM and to her drive to help individuals like her mother who suffer from unexplained illnesses, Olivia has mapped out a bold path for herself and has demonstrated that she has the willpower to follow through on it. We encourage everyone to read Olivia’s essay, as well as past winners, to see just how inspiring her story is.
