Bottlinger Law L.L.C. Renews Its “Bowties and Books” Scholarship
Last year, our Omaha law firm launched a $1,000 nationwide scholarship for exemplary young scholars. We whittled over nine hundred applications down to five finalists, but couldn’t pick a winner—so we chose two! Please have a look at their winning essays here, and be inspired. Because it’s happening again.
We are pleased to say that our Bowties and Books Scholarship 2019 is open for business. To enter, please answer the following question in a well-written essay:
- Why did you choose the college you will be attending, and how do you hope that school will influence your future? (Note: your essay must be between 500 and 1,000 words, or it will not be considered for the prize.)
Attorney Jason Bottlinger and his wife are proud Huskers. Though Jason went to law school in Texas, he came home to Nebraska to start his law firm, close to family and friends. The experiences we have at school impact the people we become, and we want to hear who you want that person to be.
This $1,000 is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship to be used for post-secondary education purposes, like tuition, textbooks, housing expenses, and other school supplies. It is open to high school seniors and college students in good standing. United States citizens, permanent residents, and DACA recipients are welcome to apply. The deadline is May 9, 2019, and we will be announcing the winner—or winners—on June 6, 2019 through our blog and Facebook page. We will be contacting the finalists a few weeks before that date to confirm details.
Rewarding a student who will do great things for their community is a worthy goal, one that we intend to continue every year.
Please share this scholarship opportunity with every eligible student you know. We wish every applicant good luck, and look forward to reading your essays!
